Mezzi Master Exhibition: A Staircase to Knowledge

One Plus Partnership Limited's Innovative Design Wins Silver A' Design Award

The inspiration for the Mezzi Master Exhibition came from the concept of a staircase, which the designers used as a metaphor for the acquisition of knowledge. As one ascends a staircase, moving from one level to another, it is akin to the process of gaining wisdom through reading. The staircase also serves as a bridge, connecting different areas of the building, reflecting the Chinese name of Mezzi Master’s parent company, which translates to “stepping upwards”.

What sets the Mezzi Master Exhibition apart is its unique use of space. The exhibition area features white prism-shaped stands, designed to align with the staircase theme. These stands can be arranged in four different ways to accommodate various types of exhibitions. They also serve to divide the exhibition space into sections, without completely isolating one area from another. This design encourages visitors to move freely among the exhibitions, promoting a less confined and more interactive experience.

The realization of this design involved the use of various materials including cement, acoustic panel, terrazzo, granite, steel, tiles, mosaic, and crystal glass. The design process posed challenges, particularly in designing the stands and tables for the exhibits. Given the wide range of future exhibits planned, from art exhibitions to photography and new book displays, the design had to be versatile enough to accommodate all forms of exhibition.

The Mezzi Master Exhibition was created by One Plus Partnership Limited, a renowned design team based in Changsha, China. The project was a testament to their creativity and technical prowess, overcoming various design challenges to produce a space that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.

The design's innovative approach and execution have not gone unnoticed. In 2017, it was awarded the Silver A' Design Award, a prestigious accolade given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to the design's strong technical characteristics, splendid artistic skill, and its ability to evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder among its visitors.
